Seeking God 31 Days

haldenToday I’m starting a series called, “Seeking God.”  I’ve joined a 31 day writing challenge with thousands of authors all over the world. I’m quite sure I’m only understanding about 1/2 of the instructions but you have to start somewhere right?

Here are the rules: I have to write each day, for 5 minutes and then hit publish. That is terrifying for so many reasons! Today I pledge to you that I will wake up each morning and open my Bible and seek God’s beauty and share what I’ve discovered with you.

My hope is that you can use this daily post for your own quiet time and Bible reading. I pray that together as we seek God we will discover more about His character, His love and who He has created us to be.

One of my favorite verses is Psalm 27:4

One thing I ask from the LORD, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple.

Life can throw us so many curve balls; pain, sadness, anger, misunderstandings, broken relationships…I’m sure you can write your own list. It is extremely easy to fall into a habit of stress, despair and complaining. The Bible instructs us to seek the Lord and to gaze on His beauty because I believe the psalmist knew that it’s easy to get lost. It’s easy to be overcome. It’s easy to look only at ourselves and our situations and lose heart.

Guard your heart from being overtaken by the troubles of this world. God has not left, he is in control. Seek God, dwell in his house of worship and look for His beauty. It is there you will find peace and truth and love.

Until tomorrow my friends.

Thanks Christine I needed that today!! Looking forward to tomorrow’s writing!

  • You are absolutely right! The Bible does not say work harder…do more.. Just rest..Be Still..Abide in Him. Rest in the Lord…Soak in the Radiance of His glory..Others will see His glory reflected on your face! And you will find peace in His Presence. John 15:5, Phil.2:15
